At Softcat, we believe technology should be an enabler of better outcomes – and nowhere is that more important than in social care.
The care sector continues to operate under immense pressure. Demand is rising, resources are stretched, and providers are being asked to deliver increasingly personalised, high‑quality care in complex and highly regulated environments. At the same time, there is growing recognition that the right use of digital technology can play a vital role in supporting these challenges – from improving efficiency and resilience, to empowering staff and enhancing the experience and wellbeing of residents.
That belief sits at the heart of why we are proud to support Championing Social Care’s Care Sector’s Got Talent.
This initiative celebrates the people who make care what it is. It shines a light on creativity, individuality and the human connection that defines the sector, reminding us that care is, first and foremost, about people. While technology is our world, we never lose sight of the fact that its true value lies in the outcomes it enables for individuals, teams and communities. Supporting an event that recognises and elevates those working in care aligns strongly with our values.
Our involvement also reflects our growing commitment to the care sector more broadly. We’ve had the privilege of working with a number of social care providers across the UK, supporting them on their technology journeys – whether that’s strengthening core infrastructure, enabling more flexible and secure ways of working, or protecting sensitive data in an increasingly digital environment. Through these partnerships, we’ve seen first‑hand how well‑implemented technology can make a real difference, freeing up valuable staff time, improving communication, and ultimately supporting better, more responsive care.
However, we also recognise that adopting technology in care is not always straightforward. Many organisations are balancing legacy systems, tight budgets and complex regulatory requirements, all while keeping residents’ needs at the centre of every decision. That’s where we believe our role goes beyond technology alone. We aim to be a trusted partner – helping care providers make confident, informed decisions that deliver genuine value without adding unnecessary complexity.
Supporting Care Sector’s Got Talent is part of our wider ambition to deepen our engagement with the sector in a meaningful way. It’s an opportunity for us to listen, learn and build lasting relationships, while contributing to a platform that celebrates the dedication, passion and talent that exists across care every day.
Ultimately, our motivation is simple. We want to play a small part in helping the sector thrive. By combining the compassion and commitment of care professionals with thoughtful, well‑designed technology, we believe it’s possible to unlock better outcomes for organisations, staff and – most importantly – residents.
We’re delighted to be involved and look forward to seeing the talent, creativity and pride on display.
