Join the Great British Care Cycle Relay!
12th – 16th June 2025
It’s time to grab your helmets, dust off your bicycles, and embark on a remarkable journey that combines cycling, camaraderie, and compassion.
Registrations are open for the Great British Care Cycle Relay, a celebration of the care services that are at the heart of every community. The Relay is a fully supported group ride including British Cycling qualified guide for each day. The route will start and end at a care home and call at a number of homes along the route where refreshment will be provided and you will have the chance to meet some amazing staff and residents. The ride includes a free jersey and a finisher’s medal. Full briefing will be provided including details of transport and parking and tips on prep for the ride. The aim of the Relay is to raise awareness and the profile of care in our communities so there is no registration fee and no fundraising obligation. If you want to raise funds for a care-related charity of your choice, let us know and we will help you to promote it.

What is the Great British Care Cycle Relay?
The Great British Care Cycle Relay is a monumental cycling event that aims to raise awareness of social care in the United Kingdom.
In the lead up to Care Home Open Week, we will stage five day-long cycle rides across the UK. We will end in London at the high profile launch event for Care Home Open Week. Our aim is to bring together colleagues, supporters, and families to promote the incredible care services at the heart of every community.
Each day’s ride will be a loop designed by experienced cyclists to make an enjoyable challenge for those taking part. En route each day we will visit a number of care services to celebrate together and highlight the amazing work that is modern care.

The Great British Cycle Relay aims to inspire, connect and unite. Cyclists are encouraged to sign up for a full day’s ride (more than one day if you would like to) that will cover 80-100km.
We aim to make it as easy as possible to take part – we start and end near public transport hubs; each day’s ride is supported by a professional guide; there is no fee or fundraising target.

As the relay progresses through different regions, we will be providing a big cheer and warm welcome to the cyclists. The Great British Care Cycle Relay will stop at care homes along the way where a welcome reception will be ready. These gatherings provide an opportunity to connect with fellow colleagues, share stories, and enjoy the contagious enthusiasm that radiates throughout the relay.
